Medicare Advantage Plans

1. Medicare Advantage plans are part of the Medicare program and must offer all the benefits
   of Original Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans may include Part D prescription drug
   coverage and other additional benefits. You may find that your out-of-pocket costs are lower
   with a Medicare Advantage plan than with Original Medicare.
2. Medicare Advantage plans differ from area to area, even within a state. Make sure that the
   Medicare Advantage plan you select is right for you. Check with your healthcare provider(s)
   and pharmacy (if applicable) to determine if they accept Your Medicare plan. Compare costs,
   such as premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments.

Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D

Medicare is divided into four parts. If Part C is the right answer for you, then Apex Insurance Agency
can find the right company for you. We work with many different companies that offer all the benefits
of Original Medicare, plus additional benefits – which may include dental, vision, and hearing
coverage – and may help you save money.

Part A = Hospital insurance. Automatic when you sign up for Medicare. Most people pay no
premium.

Part B = Medical insurance. Helps cover doctor services. Pay a monthly premium.
Original Medicare = A + B

Part C = Medicare Advantage plans. Covers Part A+ Part B. May also include Part D prescription
drug coverage and additional benefits.

Part D = Prescription Drug Coverage. Not included in Part A or Part B. May be offered with Part C or
as a stand-alone plan. Most of our companies that offer Medicare Advantage plans include Part D
coverage and are also referred to as Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans. Part D
coverage is available on most of the companies that offer Part D.
